HOW ARE BUILDING MANAGERS PREPARING FOR THE NEW TITLE 24?

In July 2014 the new Title 24 requirements will go into effect.  The State of California is seriously raising the bar in terms of energy conservation requirements in both new construction and existing buildings.

Please see the attached article that I wrote for Bay Area Buildings News that discusses how building managers are preparing to comply with these requirements and what the costs are expected to be.

SAN FRANCISCO GROSS RECEIPTS TAX

The City and County of San Francisco put a measure on the November ballot in 2012 to seek voter approval regarding business taxes. This measure sought to change from collecting payroll taxes to collecting gross receipts taxes. The measure was approved by the voters and the transition will occur over a 4 year period.

Please see the attached article that I wrote for the Bay Area Buildings News, published for the first time in June, 2013. This article was based on a presentation that I made to a BOMA audience earlier in the year.

If you would like more information about this new tax and its impact on your buildings, please contact me.
